September 4

Got out for a hunt with Steve again, we dug for a mammoth 6 hours and the reseilts were quite pleasing. We both managed a decent amount of coins, Steve recovered 23 and i recovered 64, a new personel record. The better 2 were a 1936 silver sixpence and a 1943 silver shilling, both were in appaling condition when dug but after running electrolysis they cleaned up nicely.
We also dug 2 foreign coins each, Steve got a 1983 Hong Kong 10 cents and a chinese coins, and I got a 1983 English pound and a 1983 Vanuatu 20 vatu.
We finished the day with a feed of chicken and chips, well deserved reward!

27-28 August

Got out 2 days in a row, tired as now because of it. Managed 5 pennies in the 2 days which was really good although none of the dates were ones I hadnt found before, i did however find a 1985 1c, now I have dug complete sets of both the 1c and the 2c, so i dont have to be so picky about working out what dates they all are! Got enough video captured to make a video which should be out in acouple of days.

All up Steve landed 11 coins and I managed 24 coins. Theres bound to be more in there so we will visit the site agin in the not too distant future

31-7-10

Went with Steve to a sandy beach further south, was hoping to find plenty but ebeded up with bugger all, so we moved to the next beach up, again didnt find too much. Just about enough to cover the gas it took to get there so atleast we broke even. Managed 18 coins so that has brought my total count to 922 so my ultimate goal of 1,000 coins is getting closer. Hopefully next weekend will be better!

Saturday 17 July

Got out for a hunt on Saturday aftyernoon, the weather lookied ominous but we persevered and headed to a site that had produced the week before. The day was slow to start with, just 2 5c coins. Nothing worth bragging about, then a decent find, a New Zealand penny though heavily corroded.
We kept at it and slowly the finds started to come in, the first great find was a 1945 silver sixpence.
Over the course of the next few hours I managed 34 coins, a new personal best, the odd find was a sheriffs badge, in metal with makers details on the back, probably a 1950s-1960s piece. A really nice find
